Jack, 1952 Buick Eight Special Deluxe

Consistently one of our most popular cars, "Jack" is an automotive embodiment of "Vintage Americana". Classic venues like Leeds' The Sonnet House and Montevallo's American Village are an excellent backdrop for his vintage American style. In the 1950s, Buick cars were not the stodgy, ultra-conservative models of today -- then, they had a reputation for beautiful styling and superior quality. Many folks even preferred Buicks over Cadillacs in this period. Their advertising slogan was straight-to-the-point: "When Better Automobiles Are Built, Buick Will Build Them". And they did!

We purchased "Jack" in Hershey, Pennsylvania in October, 2011, at the world's largest annual car show and swap meet -- with only 47,000 original miles. He had been owned by the same family for almost his entire life, and was in stunning original condition. We didn't plan to buy a car on the trip, but couldn't pass up this piece of history. Since we were without a car trailer, we actually drove this car 930 miles back to Birmingham -- with no problems! This is truly a testament to a well-cared-for vintage automobile.

The name "Jack" is a nod to our step-grandfather, who in the days of this car was one of Buick's loyal following -- and owned a car very much like this one.

"...Thank you for everything. The car was wonderful. Chris and I really wanted something nicer than a stretch limo, and you exceeded our expectations. We'll be calling you on our anniversary!..." -Kimberly R., Birmingham

"....Your [Hudson] sedan is just plain gorgeous! I want to tell you how really nice the black/green combination looks-- the way the green frames the windows, the broad beltline stripe. If I recall right '29 was a record year for Hudson, wasn't it? It's no wonder when I look at yours!" -James S., via E-Mail

"....Thank you for making this so easy!" -Kim G., Birmingham

"...Before our reception was even over, all my friends started coming up to me and asking where we found the car, and that it was so neat! My maiden-of-honor will be calling you to book her wedding this summer. Thanks for the great ride!" -Monica P., Birmingham
