Our Silver Shadow was ordered new by Henry Bruce Keiser — Lord of Tuxford, highly successful lawyer, publisher, and business leader — for his wife, Jessie. It was purchased through Len Immke who, besides being a car dealer, co-founded Wendy’s Restaurants. In addition to practicing law in Washington, D.C., Mr. Keiser served as chairman and CEO of several major companies, including Lion Worldwide and Empire Carriages in London, U.S. Telemarketing Inc. in Atlanta, and The Philadelphia Institute. In 1959, Mr. and Mrs. Keiser founded Federal Publications, Inc., pioneering the field of public contract law. Mr. Keiser also served as a major in the USAF Reserve. In 1998, after his passing, Mrs. Keiser established the Henry B. and Jessie W. Keiser Foundation, Inc. Today, their Foundation supports, among other efforts, the programs and exhibits of the National Air and Space Museum — more of their story is on the museum’s website.

What’s in a name?

“Abigail” honors our founder’s daughter — our enthusiastic test-driver after reconditioning — and First Lady Abigail Adams, a nod to the car’s long history in Washington, D.C.
